Be Still

Photo from Revell House

Forty-one---that's the number of blog posts I wrote last year. Compare that to 128 posts in 2011 and 110 posts in 2010. For a girl who loves to write, the number 41 feels pretty low.

However, I'm coming to realize that I needed that break from my blog. I needed a year that the blog wasn't much of a focus in my life. There were days I yearned to write, but the words just didn't come. It wasn't that 2012 wasn't eventful. In fact, last year was one of the most eventful years of my life.

But sometimes, a break is needed to refocus, to spend time learning and growing, a chance to step back and pause.

Be still and know that I am God. ~Psalm 46:10

Sometimes you need to stop and be silent in order to figure out just what it is God wants you to do. Instead of pushing and moving forward, sometimes a break in the action is exactly what's needed.

So, I sit here at the beginning of 2013 listening for God's voice not just for this blog, but life in general, and I'm waiting to see what He has planned for this year.

Sidenote: Lots of ideas have been running through my head for this blog and there has been some planning going on ... guest posts, a new feature, etc. More to come in February.

  2. My life always seems more eventful when I spend less time blogging. Intentional breaks to be silent are so healing and inspiring. Looking forward to see what you have coming!
